ABOUT THE TEAM

Reza Abadi

Hi, My name is Reza Abadi. I am a mechanical engineer from the University Of California-Berkeley. As a mechanical engineer, I have broad interests from design, manufacturing and product development to energy resources and conversion. I love creating products that are useful, innovative and enjoyable to use.

Working with smart and talented colleagues in the Team Rocket is very enjoyable, my favorite stage of the project is working with the team to come up with the best solution to a problem. As we go through that collaborative process, the ideas start to flow and that is always the fun part.

Faraz Ghahani

My name is Faraz Ghahani, and I am a senior mechanical engineering student at the University of California, Berkeley, intended graduating class of fall 2016. I am passionate about finding engineering solutions to mechanical problems and mechatronic challenges.

My academic interests include mechatronic projects and microprocessor-based mechanical systems, dynamic system control and feedback, dynamics of particles and rigid bodies, navigation equations and Euler angles, product design and development, and material science.

Devin Bisconer

Hello World! My name is Devin Bisconer and I’m a senior Energy Engineering major with a minor in Mechanical Engineering at U.C. Berkeley. I enjoy applying my newly acquired skills to finding solutions to new engineering challenges. My primary field of study is renewable energy, but I also enjoy working in robotics and this project has given me a chance to do just that. Most of my work for this project has been mechanical design as well as machining. I’d like to thank my fellow group members for an awesome semester of working and learning together (and sharing frustrations).

Matthew Taul

Hi, my name is Matthew Taul, and I am a Senior in Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley graduating Spring 2016. I want to thank my teammates on this project for putting in the effort to realize this concept both on time and under budget!

Through this class and others, I have found the fields of Engineering Design and Mechatronics to be immensely interesting. To be able to see a project from initial conception drawings all the way to completion over several months or years is extremely enjoyable, allowing you a chance to put a bit of your self in every step of the way. That is what Engineering is all about.

Justin Morris

My name is Justin Morris, and I am a mechanical engineering student who is getting ready to graduate this May.  I have a passion for robotics which has guided my studies for the past 4 years, and I hope to turn it into a career.  My other interests are tabletop gaming, weightlifting, and movies about superheroes. I did the majority of the software for this project, since I had a lot of prior experience with programming robots.
